Our Commitment to Families
Choosing a kitten is a big decision, and we believe every family deserves to feel informed, supported, and confident along the way.
At TESCATS, we are committed to raising healthy, affectionate kittens while providing clear communication, guidance, and continued support before and after your kitten comes home.
Our relationship with our families does not end at pickup day, it begins there.
Transparent Policies for a Smooth Adoption Process
We believe bringing home a kitten should feel exciting, informed, and comfortable. Below you will find the key details families most often ask about before reserving a TESCATS kitten.
Reservation & Deposits
A kitten is considered reserved only after a deposit has been received and confirmed by TESCATS.
Because each reserved kitten is removed from active availability and prepared individually for its future home, deposits are non-refundable unless TESCATS is unable to fulfill placement due to breeder-related circumstances.
We encourage families to ask all questions before reserving so they feel fully informed and comfortable.
Genetic & Congenital Health Coverage
We carefully monitor our lines and stand behind the health of our kittens.
For a period of six months, TESCATS provides replacement consideration in the event of a fatal genetic or congenital defect, provided that licensed veterinary documentation and diagnostic confirmation are supplied.
This guarantee does not extend to common environmental, viral, bacterial, or parasite-related illnesses that may occur after the kitten has left our care.
Health Guarantee
All TESCATS kittens leave our home healthy to the best of our knowledge and with age-appropriate care already in place.
Buyers agree to have their kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of pickup or delivery.
If a serious medical deficiency is discovered within that initial 48-hour period, TESCATS must be notified immediately and veterinary documentation must be provided. In confirmed breeder-related health situations, breeder remedies will be discussed according to contract terms.
Prompt communication is extremely important, especially if the kitten is not eating, adjusting poorly, or showing signs of distress.
Veterinary Care & Vaccinations
Before leaving TESCATS, each kitten receives:
- age-appropriate vaccinations
- deworming as needed
- routine wellness observation
- health record documentation
Buyers receive a copy of the kitten’s health information along with guidance for continued veterinary care and transition into the new home.
Buyer Responsibilities
To protect the health of the kitten and maintain the terms of the health guarantee, buyers agree to provide:
- indoor-only housing
- timely veterinary care
- routine vaccinations and wellness checks
- proper nutrition and hygiene
- safe supervision and loving companionship
Exotic Shorthair kittens should never be exposed to unknown outdoor animals or unsafe environments during development.
Buyer is responsible for all veterinary expenses after placement.
Shipping & Delivery
We work with families throughout the United States and can help coordinate safe transport options when local pickup is not possible.
Available options may include:
- local pickup in Texas
- airport meeting
- in-cabin flight nanny delivery
All transportation arrangements are discussed individually to ensure the safest and least stressful experience for the kitten.
Transportation fees are separate from kitten purchase price unless otherwise stated.
Registration & Spay/Neuter Terms
All TESCATS kittens are registered through the Cat Fanciers’ Association.
Pet kittens are placed with limited registration unless breeding rights have been discussed and approved in writing before placement.
Pet buyers agree to complete spay or neuter within the recommended age window and provide veterinary confirmation in order to receive final registration paperwork.
Non-Refundable Terms
Because each kitten is reserved individually and significant time is invested in daily care, updates, and preparation for placement, all deposits are non-refundable.
Final payments are also non-refundable once transportation, pickup scheduling, or transfer arrangements have been completed.
TESCATS reserves the right to refuse or cancel a sale if we feel a placement is not in the best interest of the kitten. In such rare breeder-cancelled situations, deposits paid may be refunded at breeder discretion.
Additional Purchase Terms
TESCATS does not guarantee breeding ability, future show performance, allergies within the home, landlord approval, or behavioral outcomes caused by environmental handling after placement.
This health agreement applies only to the original purchaser and becomes void if the kitten is sold, transferred, or rehomed.
Because proper adjustment is essential, buyers are asked to contact TESCATS promptly with any concerns so breeder guidance can be provided during the transition.
Please note: Full purchase agreement details are reviewed individually with each family prior to final reservation and placement.
